Graciela and Captain Arnoldo Falcoff Patagon means "Big Foot" in ancient Spanish. That's how Fernando De Magallanes, during the first human circumnavigation around the World, named the indians of the Sourthenmost region of South America. That region is known today as (Big Foot's land) Patagonia. Capt. Arnoldo Falcoff started his diving career in Patagonia where he was, for many years, a salvage and commercial diver. Moving to Saint Thomas in 1976 he became a PADI SCUBA Instructor and a certified US Coast Guard Boat Captain in 1978. Involved in the local dive/boating industry since that time, Capt. Arnoldo took over the dive program for the Ritz Carlton, St Thomas when it first opened doors in 1992. More recently, Caneel Bay in St John also incorporated Patagon to their property. Capt. Arnoldo built a strong reputation for excellence in service and customer satisfaction. He prides himself for the very large group of friends he made among his diving guests. Besides his main passion, the Ocean, Capt Arnoldo enjoys the reading of Sciences ( a "Sciences Groupy", as he refers of himself, he had the privilege to meet, at various times, many world renown scientists), the sport of Tennis (a 4.5 ranked he is always available to good players among his guests divers), and the sport of breath holding diving. A former top ten in free diving competitions back in Argentina he still keeps his breath holding form and enjoying guiding snorkel tours. Graciela grew up on the sheep ranch of her parents over the Patagonian coast of Peninsula Valdes, a marine life preserve designated by the UN as one of the World's Heritages. Sea lions, sea elephants, penguins, and hundreds of species of sea birds populate Peninsula Valdes that also is one of the best destination, worldwide, for whale watching. Graciela, a graduated psychologist, works at Antilles School in Saint Thomas. SCUBA Instructor Eran Amichai. Night Diving at "Patagon Reef" Eran Amichai has been instructing scuba diving for more than ten years, starting in ’96 at the Red Sea’s Dolphin Reef, in Eilat, Israel. Wildlife is his main interest, and he traveled all over the world to see what animals he could find, and along the way – dive in as many locations as possible… In 2006 Eran earned his degree in Biology from the Tel-Aviv University, with special emphasis on Zoology and Marine-Biology, and he gladly shares his knowledge with his divers. Eran and his wife, Joey, live in St. Thomas since ’06, leaving Israel, where they met, to experience the more laid-back life style of the Caribbean. Captain Richard Baker Captain Richard Baker and wife Debbie Barton moved to the Virgin Islands a little over a year ago to pursue a life on the water. They make their home aboard a 36 foot live-aboard, “Mambo” with their seaworthy dachshund Slab. Captain Richard is a former US army paratrooper, retired from the Washington D.C. police department, retired lawyer, and loyal red-sox fan. Back in his professional days, people at the office would know when Richard would go diving on his lunch breaks. He would throw on a drysuit over his business suit and return to the office an hour later with damp hair. A PADI Master Scuba Instructor, Richard can teach just about any dive specialty. Captain Magaly Falcoff Maggy was born and raised on St.Thomas to Argentinean parents. She spent four years in Florida getting her B.A. in fine arts (photography and filming) and sailing on the sailing team. In 2002 she became a USCG certified 50 ton Master Boat Captain. After graduating from Eckerd College she spent a year living in Argentina, between Buenos Aires and Patagonia. She loved the city life, but is an island girl at heart and needed to go back to her ocean and warm weather. On her free time she pursues her passion, surfing her little heart out, and if seas are flat she’s either found freediving, fixing surfboards, or exploring the islands. Her other two passions, sailing and traveling, has her committed to one day sailing around the world. Dive Master Gary Pilant Gary was born in Venezuela. His father left the United States in the eighties to work there for an American oil company. Gary's father is now retired and lives in his farm in Venezuela's back country. Gary moved to the States for his higher education, enrolled in the US Navy for three years, and took on the sport of SCUBA diving. He dove on many of the Ship Wrecks on the Atlantic US coast and visited many other dive destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America. Few years ago Gary took the decision to make a career out of his pasion for SCUBA diving. He is a member of the Patagon team since April 2006.
